Aaron David Klem, 24, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Bowling Green, died Feb. 2, 2008.
He was born Jan. 24, 1984. He was a city planner in Elizabethtown, a 2002 graduate of Greenwood High School, where he was a member of the Gator football team, and a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in geography. He was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was a son of David and Diane Klem of Bowling Green, who survive. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Walter and Ruby Klem; and an aunt, Linda Riggles.
Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he was a member, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel. Prayer service is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Other survivors include a sister, Krista Klem of Bowling Green; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Martha Miller of Huntingburg, Ind.; aunts and uncles, Richard and Idona Schipp of Paducah, Pam Barnett and Denny and Becky Hohler, all of Jasper, Ind., David and Kathy Johannemann of Ferdinand, Ind.., Sharon and Martin Keil of Munster, Ind., and Steven Klem, Doug and Beth Klem and Rhonda Klem, all of Huntingburg; and 21 cousins.

I don't know if you will still receive this communication, but I want you to know that Aaron was such a great guy. I knew and met him through my son, who was a friend. I cannot even imagine the pain you have suffered losing your child. I enjoyed Aaron's company and good humor during my encounters with him. He was great! I will miss him. "
