Special services
State Street Baptist Church, 340 State St., will have a gospel feast at 6 p.m. Saturday for Relay for Life. The Rev. Fred Brown Sr. is pastor. Deborah Bufford and Lauren Bland are chairpersons.
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church will host its Women’s Conference Saturday and Sunday. The theme will be “The Elect Lady: Holy, Chosen & Special.” Services will be at 9:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday and at 11:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Frederick L. Sr. is pastor.
Powerhouse Ministries, 1902 Old Louisville Road, will have a yard sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Whites Chapel United Methodist Church will have homecoming on Sunday. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and worship will be at 11 a.m. Potluck will be at noon. There will be no afternoon services.
Alpha & Omega Pentecostal Ministries, 919 Church St., will celebrate Women’s Month. Pastor Gail Dean of Jeffersonville, Ind., will be the guest at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Recording artist and evangelist Sherrie Carlson will be the guest at 3 p.m. May 11. Pastor Dana Kaiser of Jeffersonville will be the guest at 12:30 p.m. May 25. Bishop Victor Coleman is pastor.
St. Paul AME and First Baptist Woodburn churches will come together at 5 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Woodburn for an appreciation benefit for Sis. Rosie M. Holland, a lifetime Woodburn citizen and Christian warrior who has consistently supported and worshipped with both churches as well as surrounding churches. In November, Sis. Holland had a stroke that hospitalized her for three months. Her ordeal has left her blind since that time. Choirs, groups or soloists are invited to the event. If interested, call Sis. Bowling Green Christian Church will debut its new Wednesday night series entitled The Not-So-Late Show with Rick O’Shay. The underlying theme in this first series installment will look at characters of the Bible and their tests of faith. There will be a meal at 5:30 p.m. in the church commons. The cost is $3 for adults and $2 for children and meal reservations are requested each Monday prior to the show. The church will also offer three Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Child care and Bible fellowship classes will be available during all three services and during Wednesday evening programs. Registration is in progress for the spring semester of Bible College at Victory Baptist Church, 1202 State St. This semester’s curriculum is part of a three-year chronological study through the entire Bible. All classes are taught on DVD by Dr. John Yates from the Faith Bible Institute in Monroe, La. Students may choose to either attend from 3:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays or from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays. The Gathering, a weekly worship event for young people from all religious backgrounds or no religious background, will worship at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Plaza Theatre in Glasgow. Christian rock bands will perform.
St. Paul AME Church Cemetery in Woodburn needs financial support for the upkeep of the cemetery. Family members who have loved ones resting there can contact any member or Bill Grainger, chairman of the cemetery fund.

The Unitarian Universalist Church meets at 11 a.m. Sunday at 2033 Nashville Road. The Rev. Doak Mansfield will speak on “The Intractable Quandry: God.” Children and youth religious exploration classes meet at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, and youth group meets at 12:15 p.m. The group is involved with religious exploration and social justice activities. Child care is available from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
