POLICE NEWS: Man charged; criminal mischief reported

Arrest — Jeffrey Wade Pearson, 28, 2042 Rock Creek Road, Apt. 5, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:59 a.m. Tuesday at Kelley and Louisville roads, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

Police pulled Pearson over for speeding and found suspected cocaine inside a pen top, according to the report.

Pearson was released Tuesday from the Warren County Regional Jail on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Criminal mischief — An unidentified liquid was poured into a vehicle’s gas tank, causing $400 in damage, around 3 p.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Thoroughbred Drive, according to a city police report.

Criminal mischief — A truck, soda machine and 19 bags of concrete valued at $2,157 were damaged between 6 p.m. May 21 and 6 a.m. Thursday at Carter Lumber at 3975 Louisville Road, according to a city police report.

Theft — About $1,368 and 80 to 100 CDs valued at $1,200 were stolen from a vehicle between midnight Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Scott Way, according to a city police report.
