The bond for the man accused of making a threatening call to a minister whose church was destroyed by fire was lowered Monday to $5,000.
Wallace Michael Gaddis, 56, of Bowling Green was named by Kentucky State Police as a person of interest in the Friday fire at Mount Zion Church of Christ, which was determined to have been intentionally set, and Wednesday’s fire at Mount Pleasant Church of Christ. The cause of the fire at Mount Pleasant remains undetermined.
Gaddis’ bond had initially been set at $100,000 on the charge of harassing communication. County Attorney Amy Milliken said this morning that Gaddis’ bond has been decreased and he remains in jail. He has also been ordered to go to LifeSkills for a competency evaluation, Milliken said.
Mount Pleasant church minister W. Tom Hall said Friday he received a phone call that he said could be characterized as threatening or harassing.
Since the fires at the two Richardsville-area churches, law enforcement has increased its patrols of churches within the county, said State Police Detective Sgt. Tommy Smith.
The two church fires remain under investigation.
