GLASGOW — Gale “Goober” Shaw, 60, of Glasgow died Aug. 27, 2008, at a Glasgow nursing home.
The Cumberland County native was an auto body repairman and owned and operated Shaw’s Body Shop in Glasgow. He was a son of the late Raymond Taylor Shaw and Mamie Ellen Shaw. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Roger Shaw.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; a son, Chris Shaw of Glasgow; a daughter, Denise Smith and her husband, Jason, of Glasgow; a stepdaughter, Susan Clemmons and her husband, Troy, of Edmonton; a stepson, Steven Furlong and his wife, Calissa, of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Holley Geary and Cody Smith; five stepgrandchildren, Dustin and Katlyn Clemmons and Madison, Kinley and Rylan Furlong; two brothers, Jerry Shaw of Tompkinsville and Freddie Shaw of Glasgow; a sister, Jo Ann Walters of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
