The Sunny 16 Camera Club is hosting its first Photo Walk where amateurs and beginners will walk around downtown Bowling Green to take photos and meet other photographers.
The free social photography event will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Those interested will meet in the parking lot of Mariah’s, where a map of the route will be given out. The route will cover 1.8 miles - heading down Eighth Avenue to Chestnut Street, Chestnut Street to 14th Avenue, 14th Avenue over to State Street, State Street to 10th Avenue, 10th Avenue to Center Street, back up to College Street, College Street to Main Avenue, Main Avenue to State Street and State Street to Mariah’s parking lot.
Ronnie Ryne, the walk leader for the event, said those participating do not have to walk the entire route, but are encouraged not to diverge from the route - “so if they encounter other photographers during the walk, they can swap experiences along the way.”
The walk will be followed by social time from noon to 1 p.m. at Mariah’s, where everyone will gather to share their experiences and photographs.
