The WKU volleyball team rebounded from Friday night’s loss at Michigan by defeating Arizona State 3-2 (23-25, 24-26, 25-23, 26-24, 15-12) before falling to Albany 3-2 (24-26, 25-10, 17-25, 25-14, 14-16) in the final match of the Michigan/adidas Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Toppers fall to 11-3 on the season. Against Arizona State, the Lady Toppers rebounded from a slow start to rally in sets three, four and five under the direction of junior Brittany Bowen and seniors Megan Argabright and Julia Noe.
Bowen, who finished with 19 kills, posted a .516 hitting percentage and eight blocks.
Argabright finished the night with 17 kills, a .395 hitting percentage, one assist, one ace and seven total blocks. Noe added 11 kills, 59 assists, 24 digs, two blocks and a .455 hitting percentage.
The Lady Toppers posted impressive numbers during the match, finishing with 75 kills, 73 assists, five aces, 87 digs, 26 blocks and a .279 hitting percentage.
Against Albany, the Lady Toppers posted dominating numbers but could not capitalize after committing 25 errors and fell for the third time this season. WKU was led by Noe and sophomore Emily Teegarden. Noe continued her outstanding tournament performance, recording seven kills, 52 assists, 11 digs and a .429 hitting percentage. In addition, Teegarden ended her tournament run posting 18 kills, one assist, six digs, one block and a .308 hitting percentage.
