A Bowling Green man was arrested today after he and an unidentified woman allegedly hit a man in the head with a baseball bat and pipe, causing serious injuries.
Joshua Earl Brandon, 28, 1271 Durbin St., was charged with second-degree assault at 5:40 p.m. Monday at his home, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.
After the incident, the victim passed out and was taken to The Medical Center before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, according to the report. The victim was allegedly able to identify Brandon as his attacker in Nashville.
Brandon is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
Accident — Marricus Cox, 21, of Bowling Green is in critical condition at the University of Louisville Hospital after an accident on Veterans Memorial Lane at 7:12 p.m. Monday.
Cox was riding a scooter when he collided with a vehicle driven by Johnny Dwight Roberts, 47, of Bowling Green. Roberts was charged with second-degree assault, driving under the influence, tampering with physical evidence and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, according to a Warren County Sheriff’s Office report.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Megan Wilson, 24, and Troy Long, 53, both of Bowling Green, were also charged with tampering with physical evidence and alcohol intoxication. The accident remains under investigation.
Roberts, Wilson and Long are being held without bond.
Accident — Daniel S. Overholt, 61, of Bowling Green is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after a motorcycle accident at 3:54 p.m. Sunday on Beech Bend Park Road.
Overholt was traveling west on Beech Bend Park Road when the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree, according to a Kentucky State Police report. He was not wearing a helmet.
Arrest — Latrice M. Quintero, 25, 1001 Delafield Ave., was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree fleeing or evading police at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Lehman and Fairview avenues, according to a city police report.
Quintero struck a man with her vehicle and then refused to stop for police, according to the report. There was a passenger and a 2-year-old child in the vehicle during the incident.
She is being held on $1,000 bond.
Arrest — Three people were arrested Monday afternoon on sealed indictments, according to a report from the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force.
Bonnie Davenport, 53, 950 Andrew Circle, Roundhill, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. She is being held on $85,000 bond.
Dennis Ray Richardson, 25, 1144 Crewdson Drive, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. He is being held on $40,000 bond.
Evan Allen Doss, 20, 1347 Park St., was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school. He is being held on $7,500 bond.
Burglary — The front door was broken and seven phones were stolen between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 a.m. today at T-Mobile at 1680 Campbell Lane, according to a city police report. Losses and damage were estimated to be $3,550.
Burglary — A trailer and furniture valued at $15,000 were stolen between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Nashville Road, according to a city police report.
Burglary — A gun case, ammunition, a trigger lock and a stuffed animal, altogether valued at $540, were stolen between 2:05 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. Thursday from a room at Red Roof Inn at 3140 Scottsville Road, according to a city police report.
Burglary — Glass was broken and the roof was dented on a vehicle between 9 p.m. Friday and 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Lost River Lane, according to a city police report.
Theft — Three purses, two wallets, cash, a cell phone, iron, shoes, a digital camera, perfume and a bag, altogether valued at $555, were stolen between 1 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday from a vehicle in the 900 block of Morgantown Road, according to a city police report.
Theft — A mountain bicycle valued at $300 was stolen between midnight Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of East 13th Avenue, according to a city police report.
Theft — A black 1999 Ford F-150 valued at $8,000 was stolen around 8 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Lovers Lane, according to a city police report. The vehicle has Kentucky license plate 676 CMP.
Theft — Four condensers valued at $8,000 were stolen between Sept. 11 and Thursday from Houchens Corp. at 900 Church St., according to a city police report.
Theft — A 2009 silver Toyota Camry valued at $22,000 was stolen between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Kentucky Street, according to a city police report. The vehicle has an Indiana license plate.
Theft — A laptop valued at $1,250 was stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Fairview Street, according to a city police report.
Theft — A barbecue grill with a trailer, valued at $2,300, was stolen between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4 in the 700 block of Plum Springs Loop, according to a city police report.
Theft — A cell phone valued at $349 was stolen around 1 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Adams Street, according to a city police report.
Theft — A 2004 gray Toyota Camry valued at $20,000 was stolen between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 3 a.m. today in the 1600 block of Euclid Avenue, according to a city police report. The keys were left inside the vehicle.
Theft — A citizens band radio valued at $350 was stolen between Friday and Monday in the 100 block of Corporate Court.
Theft — A cell phone valued at $350 was stolen between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday at Bowling Green High School at 1801 Rockingham Lane, according to a city police report.
