Art
The Fine Arts Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Lost River Cave & Valley. The event is sponsored by the cave and ArtWorks, a visual arts coalition. Accompanying the event will be a wine tasting by Greenwood Spirits Shoppe and beer samples from Bowling Green Brewing Co. and samples from Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese. Cambridge Market will have items for sale.
The 16th annual Jack. E. Lunt Memorial Exhibition will be in the Houchens Gallery of the Capitol Arts Center through Monday. The exhibit features the work of Joe Downing and is sponsored by the Baker Arboretum. The Mezzanine Gallery is showing the international movie posters from the collection of Leon Vincent through Monday.
The prints of Gayle Novick will be on display at the Cancer Center of The Medical Center until Nov. 15.
An art exhibit featuring artist Alice Gatewood Waddell will be at the Porter Cafe at the Warren County Public Library.
VSA Arts of KY presents “Love in Any Language,” featuring the work of artists affiliated with VSA Arts of KY through Oct. 31. Artists will create artistic interpretations of the 2008 Bowling Green International Festival Theme, “Love In Any Language.” The gallery is at 515 E. 10th Ave.
The Gallery At 916 will present “All You Need is Love: An Extreme Bird’s Eye View,” featuring the work of John Warren Oakes and Haley Young, through Tuesday. The gallery is at 916 State St.
The Presbyterian Church at 10th Avenue and State Street will have an exhibition featuring artwork by youth of the church through Nov. 21. The church exhibits may be viewed in the Fellowship Hall, 10th Avenue entrance, weekdays during work hours.
Campus
A Western Kentucky University faculty vocal recital by Liza Kelly will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. Admission is free. A guest faculty master class by Keith Underwood will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday on flute in the recital hall.
Western Kentucky University’s Hardin Planetarium will present “50 Years in Space.” Shows will be at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through October, except. Oct. 19, and at 2 p.m. Sundays. The doors will open 15 minutes prior to the show, with no one being admitted after the free program begins. Anyone under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
Ten pieces from the original 1881 fountain from Fountain Square Park will be on display through November in the Kentucky Library and Museum.
Warren County Sights and Sounds, an exhibit presenting the history and culture of Bowling Green and Warren County in photographs and film, will be in Western Kentucky University’s Kentucky Library & Museum. The exhibit is the result of a two-year joint project during which about 150 photographs and 45 feet of moving film related to Bowling Green and Warren County were collected. Sponsors of the project and exhibit are The Landmark Association, The Bowling Green/Warren County Historic Preservation Board, Insight Communications and The Kentucky Library & Museum. Sights and Sounds of Warren County will be in the Museum’s Garden Gallery and continues through Dec. 7.
Exhibits at the Kentucky Building on Western Kentucky University’s campus include: “U.S. Bank Celebration of the Arts,” which opens Sunday; “VSA Arts: Side by Side,” “Recommended by Duncan Hines,” “Western 100,” “Growing Up Victorian,” “Roads, Rails and Rivers,” “Hascal Haile: Guitar-maker to the Stars” and “Taking the Mystery out of Prehistory.” For more information, contact the Kentucky Building at 745-2592.

The Factory at Cave City will feature The Moon Woods Band from 8 p.m. to midnight on the first Saturday of each month. The facility is on U.S. 31-W, just north of the Ky. 90 intersection across from Dollar General.

Tickets are available for the outdoor concert Friday in Cave City near the driving range off Interstate 65. The event begins at 4 p.m. and features Sammy Kershaw, Bryan White, Warrior Poets and 8th Nation. The concert benefits Cave City Chamber of Commerce. Theater
Reservations are needed by Oct. 15 to participate in Fountain Square Players Murder-Mystery event. This year the event will be at the Old L&N Depot at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 and will benefit both FSP and the Historic Railpark and Museum. In addition to the murder mystery, there will be appetizers and beverages. Tickets are $100 per couple and $60 for a single person and are limited to 125 guests.
Expressions Performing Arts wants to start a Creative Workshop Group for those interested in the performing arts, including traditional and improvisational storytelling, comedy, drama and Imagination Theatre as an art form. For more information, contact Robin Baldwin at 746-2988
Odds & Ends
The second annual Steel Horse Stampede, benefit motorcycle ride to stomp out cancer, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church in Burkesville. Registration begins at noon at the church. A meal prepared by the members of the First Christian Church will follow the ride. The loop is 66 miles and includes stops at Mountain View Park in Albany and at 76 Falls, where there will be free cookies and soda. At 4 p.m. at the church will be door prizes, a small auction and a meal. The cost is $20 for the ride and meal; $10 for a passenger and their meal. The ALIVE Center for Community Partnerships will host its second annual Solar Energy Tour at 11 a.m. Saturday. Kentucky State Parks offers 10 percent off lodging and camping rates for current and former members of the military. The discount is good for lodge rooms, cottages and campgrounds any time of the year, based on availability.
