Crime Stoppers needs help. The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a felony theft from a department store. At about 3 p.m. Nov. 3, a man entered a department store just off Scottsville Road and began collecting merchandise in a shopping bag. The suspect collected several hundred dollars in merchandise and ran out an emergency exit. The suspect was caught on surveillance video picking up the merchandise, which included a GPS, a digital camera and several pieces of clothing. He is described as a white man in his 20s, 5-foot-10 with a medium build wearing his cap backward. Police hope someone recognizes the suspect.

Arrest — Simon Napier, 31, of Old Bardstown Road in Park City, was arrested Tuesday by Barren County Sheriff’s deputies at his home after a standoff.
According to a release from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, officers attempted to serve a warrant on Napier at his home, but he refused to come out and started to curse and threaten deputies.
Officers allegedly saw Napier waving a knife. When a deputy tried to talk to Napier through a window, Napier allegedly slammed the window on the deputy’s hand.
Officers entered Napier’s home through a back door, and Napier allegedly hid in a closet, according to the release.
After forcing the closet door open, Napier continued waving the knife and threatening officers, who used a Taser to take him into custody.
He was charged with resisting arrest, seven counts of terroristic threatening, third-degree assault on a police officer and fleeing/evading police. Napier is a convicted sex offender and was living across the street from Park City Elementary School. He was served with a Barren County warrant for fourth-degree assault, terroristic threatening and an emergency protective order.
He is in Barren County Correctional Facility on a $5,000 cash bond.
Burglary — A computer, purses and women’s clothing valued at $7,600 were stolen from a storage unit in the 200 block of Parker Avenue on Nov. 8 or Nov. 9, according to a city police report.
Burglary, criminal mischief — A computer valued at $1,100 was stolen Saturday or Sunday from an apartment in the 900 block of Bryant Way, according to a city police report. Police found the computer on the apartment’s balcony but it had been destroyed.
Theft — A laptop computer, an external hard drive, Nintendo DS and video games were stolen between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Monday from a residence in the 100 block of Butler Street, according to a city police report. Lost items totaled $1,123.
