MORGANTOWN — Ardie Lacefield Willoughby, 91, of Morgantown died Dec. 15, 2008, at a Morgantown nursing home.
The Butler County native was a housewife and a member of Chapel Union Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Houston Lacefield and Rosetta Bryant Lacefield and the wife of the late Noah Delmer Willoughby. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cordie Mae Bryant; a son, N.D. Willoughby; a stepfather, Commodore Veteto; three sisters, Arvie Lacefield Brooks, Novella Dillingham and Bonnie Casey; and a stepgrandchild.
Funeral is at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Willoughby Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Nola Stewart and her husband, Larry, of Morgantown and Ruby J. Embry and her husband, Shelton A., of Owensboro; two sons, McCellan “Mac” Willoughby and his wife, Louise, of Elizabethtown and Charles Gaston Willoughby and his wife, Linda, of Louisville; two sisters, Sylvia Kessinger and Ruby Embry and her husband, Freddie, all of Morgantown; a stepsister, Pandora Veteto Embry and her husband, Clarence, of Brandenburg; a stepbrother, Cornelous Veteto and his wife, Melvie, of Welches Creek; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
