Phon Prom, 62, of Bowling Green died at 10:04 a.m. Jan. 2, 2009, at The Medical Center.
The Battom Bang, Cambodia, native was born Jan. 2, 1946, and was a woodcutter at The Director’s Chair. He was a member of the Cambodian Mission at First Baptist Church and served in the Cambodian military with great pride. He was devoted to his church, his family and all those around him. He loved his Bible and to travel. He was the son of the late Prom Long and Phan Oun of Bowling Green, who survives, and husband of the late Touch Hin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sochea; and two brothers, Venna Prom and Saphorn Prom.
Memorial services were held Saturday at First Baptist Church; private funeral will take place at a later date.
Condolences can be made to the Cambodian Mission at First Baptist Church at 621 E. 12th St.
Other survivors include his wife, Sophal Ven Prom of Bowling Green; three sons, Check Prom and Met Prom, both of Fresno, Calif., and Ret Prom of Boston, Mass.; four daughters, Linda Prom of Boston, and Jackie Prom, Fiona Lynn Prom and Socheata Jena Prom, all of Bowling Green; 11 grandchildren; a nephew, Sophal Hem of Bowling Green; and two great-nieces, Sophy Hem and Sophath Hem, both of Bowling Green.
