A Bowling Green man pleaded guilty Monday to four criminal counts in connection with two restaurant robberies.
Justin Lamar McDonald, 22, 1712-D McGregor Court, entered guilty pleas in Warren Circuit Court to first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
The first-degree robbery and both wanton endangerment charges stemmed from a Jan. 23 robbery of the Country Mill restaurant at U.S. 31-W By-Pass.
McDonald and three others, Misty Dawn Rhodes, Ronald Glenn Butler and Terry Lee Johnson III, were charged in connection with the incident at the Country Mill.
Rhodes, a Country Mill employee, is alleged to have provided information to McDonald about store operations in advance of the robbery.
The wanton endangerment charges originated from allegations that McDonald, who was armed with a handgun, fired it into a room occupied by a Country Mill employee.
McDonald’s guilty plea to second-degree robbery came from his involvement in an Oct. 13 robbery of Burger King at 3020 Scottsville Road.
McDonald, Joshua Jackson and Donnie Dickerson Jr., an assistant manager at Burger King at the time it was robbed, were all charged in connection with the incident.
Additional charges stemming from allegations that the gun used in the robbery had been stolen were dismissed in the plea agreement, and the second-degree robbery charge had been amended down from first-degree robbery.
Prosecutors have recommended a total sentence of 20 years for McDonald, who is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 26 by Warren Circuit Judge Steve Wilson.
