Made to Be Played: The Art of Kentucky Luthiers

You're invited to a free exhibition that features stringed instrument makers. The exhibits runs daily through November at the American Cave Museum,  119 East Main Street, in Horse Cave's Historic Arts & Shopping District.

A little too much excitement? We have just the thing for you. "Music hath charms to soothe a savage beast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak." - William Congreve

  • Arthur Hatfield Presentation at Made to Be Played - November 7, 5:30 pm  Arthur Hatfield, banjo maker and bluegrass musician, brings his wisdom and talent to Made to be Played at the American Cave Museum.
  •  Randel Smith Presentation at Made to Be Played - November 14, 5:30 pm  Local instrument maker Randel Smith will bring the Made to be Played exhibit to life at the American Cave Museum.
  • Jammin' on the Porch - November 19, 5:30 pm Bring your instrument and join in with other local musicians on the porch of the historic Thomas House in downtown Horse Cave. Jams start at 5:30 pm and will be moved inside in case of inclement weather. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the music.
