A Bowling Green man was arrested over the weekend after police responded to a drug tip at his residence.
Joseph Dewayne Combs, 24, 2721 Nashville Road, Lot No. 7, was arrested at his residence at 12:32 a.m. Sunday and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
According to a Bowling Green Police Department arrest report, officers responding to a drug tip at Combs’ residence found a strip of aluminum foil with white residue, a small pipe containing marijuana and a small piece of plastic with white residue on it.
The white powdery substance tested positive for meth, the report said.
Combs remains in Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 bond.
Arrest — Jay Bradley White, 25, 657 Fern Hill, was arrested at 2:08 a.m. Saturday at East Main Avenue and College Street and charged with first-degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
According to a city police arrest report, White was a driver involved in an auto accident in the 400 block of East Main Avenue.
White failed sobriety tests, and the vehicle White struck in the collision sustained more than $1,000 in damage, according to the report.
White was released Saturday from jail on a $2,500 bond.
Burglary — Someone entered a residence in the 1500 block of Collegeview Drive and stole $6,000 in cash and a laptop computer between 2:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Thursday, according to a city police report.
Entry was gained by forcing open a bedroom window. Losses totaled $6,550.
Burglary, theft, criminal mischief — Someone broke into Bypass Animal Clinic, 1042 U.S. 31-W By-Pass, between midnight and 6:50 a.m. Tuesday and stole $200 in cash, according to a city police report.
Entry was gained by throwing a landscaping stone through a side door. The inside of the office had been ransacked. Damage and losses totaled $500.
Burglary, theft, criminal mischief — Someone broke into a residence in the 100 block of Plain Avenue and stole two amplifiers, a CD player stereo component and a digital camera between 10:50 and 11:23 p.m. Tuesday, according to a city police report.
Entry was gained through the back door, which was damaged. Losses and damage totaled $870.
Forgery — A Bowling Green man reported at 2:30 p.m. Friday that someone had forged checks in the name of his company, Industrial Gas Technology, 150 Vanderbilt Court, according to a city police report.
The man became aware of the apparent forgery when he received a phone call from a woman asking about the validity of a check she received from someone wanting to rent an apartment from her.
Plea — Anthony W. Cash, 29, of Glasgow, pleaded guilty March 1 in Barren Circuit Court to four counts of theft by unlawful taking of property valued at more than $300, three counts of third-degree criminal mischief, three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief and one count of receiving stolen property valued at more than $300.
According to Barren County Commonwealth’s Attorney Karen Davis, her office has recommended a 10-year sentence for Cash, who will be formally sentenced May 17.
Theft of identity — A Bowling Green woman reported that someone has used her Social Security number to gain employment in Iowa and Florida, according to a city police report.
The woman learned of the identity theft when she received a letter between 10 a.m. Thursday and 8:53 a.m. Friday from the IRS indicating that she owed $3,363 in taxes.
