Emergency workers on Monday morning recovered the body of a man at Barren River Lake State Park, a day after a man was reported missing there, according to reports.

Glasgow/Barren County Emergency Management said Sunday in a post on its Facebook page that local dispatchers received a 911 call regarding a man, later identified as Mike Aurand, who did not resurface after entering the lake, prompting a response from several agencies.

Members of Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Barren County Rescue Squad, Allen County Rescue Squad, Kentucky State Police, Allen and Barren County Sheriff’s Offices, several volunteer fire departments and emergency personnel from Barren, Hart and Allen counties took part in the search near the Gilligan’s Island part of the lake.

The search for Aurand resumed Monday morning after officials said low visibility Sunday night forced an end to the search.
