Hundreds of people attended Wednesday’s opener of the Concerts in the Park series at Fountain Square Park.

June 30: 202 Army Band (traditional American patriotic)

July 9: Lead Based Paint (classic rock/country/blues)

July 16: Easy Street (country/pop/Americana)

July 23: Salvage Town (blues/rock/red dirt country)

July 30: The Thornz (classic rock/pop)

Aug. 6: Notorious (Southern rock/blues)

7 p.m. Fridays at Circus Square Park

July 9: Ernie Small Blues Band (blues/rock)

July 16: Exit 4 (classic rock/favorites)

July 23: Tyrone Dunn Experiment (soul/R&B/funk)

Twilight Concert Series

Also, beginning tonight is the first of six free outdoor concerts in the 17th season of the Southern Kentucky Concert Band’s “Twilight Concert Series.” Concerts are at 7 p.m. for six consecutive Thursdays.

Because of flooding in Basil Griffin Park, the concerts will be in the amphitheater of the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center at Western Kentucky University. “A Change of Venue” is the theme of the first concert.

The other concert themes are:

June 10: Marching Along

June 17: Music for the Stage

June 24: Music for the Screen

July 1: A Star Spangled Spectacular

July 8: The Lost River Cave Big Band
