Paducah police arrested a woman at 2 p.m. today on a warrant charging her with murder, according to a news release from the Paducah Police Department.
Adriana Mason, 19, of North Sixth Street, Paducah, is the second suspect in the past 24 hours to be charged in the Sept. 2 shooting that led to the death of Western Kentucky University student Larry Wayne Thomas Jr., 21.
Late Thursday, Bowling Green police arrested WKU student Dominique Leshay Wortham, 21, who is also charged with murder.
Thomas was shot in the torso at Greenhaven Apartments, Apt. 8F, on Rock Creek Road around 11 p.m. Sept. 2. Thomas was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and died at about 2 a.m. Sept. 3.
Wortham told police he shot Thomas during a robbery, according to a release from the Bowling Green Police Department.
Mason was arrested "after she turned herself in at the police department" today, according to the Paducah release.
Detectives with the BGPD contacted Paducah's General Investigations Unit on Thursday and asked for help finding Mason, the release stated. Bowling Green authorities interviewed her Thursday night.
After interviewing Mason, Bowling Green detectives got a warrant through Warren County charging Mason with murder.
Mason is in the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $1 million bond and will be brought back to Warren County.
