A man faces charges after Kentucky State Police responded Friday to a welfare check of a 4-month-old child at 861 N. West St. in Munfordville.

Casey Rice, 25, of Munfordville, had not yet returned his child back to the child’s mother, according to a release from KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green.

When Rice arrived at his residence, while Trooper Graham Rutherford was there, it was determined he was under the influence. Rice was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment; DUI, with aggravating circumstances; and not having his rear license plate illuminated.

Rice was lodged in Hart County Jail, and the child was safely returned to his mother.

Rutherford, who is being assisted by Hart County Sheriff’s Deputy Joey Cox, is continuing the investigation.
