Roof work at Warren East High School is substantially complete, the Warren County Public School District Board of Education was told Monday night.
“They are just a couple of days off schedule,” Joanie Hendricks, public relations coordinator for the district, said of the roof work, which has been slightly delayed because of the rain.
The roof job is 85 percent complete and WEHS administrators have been complimentary about the job Mountain Top Enterprises has done, Hendricks said. The school board approved a payment of $768,150 for the roof project to Mountain Top Enterprises, according to the agenda.
Willie McElroy, chief financial officer for the school district, said the final payment for the roof will not be made until the December or January board meeting. The item on the agenda referring to “release and waiver of lien rights from Mountain Top Enterprises ... for the WEHS roof project” is a certification that the supplier and materials have been paid for this month, Hendricks said in an email.
The school board also reviewed the financial audit from Strothman and Company of Louisville for the fiscal year ending June 30, Hendricks said. The audit noted that there were no issues with information Strothman and Company reviewed, according to a letter attached to the audit.
