Two people were killed Monday evening in a motorcycle crash in Barren County.
According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north on Finney Road when it left the right side of the road and struck a fence around 6:20 p.m. Monday.
The driver of the motorcycle, Reed Arvis Eden, 47, of Barren County, was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital.
Eden’s passenger, Natalie Nicole Mitchell, 34, of Barren County, was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, where she died Monday.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.
Arrests — Felipe Garcia Menjivar, 22, of Bowling Green, was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no operator’s license and failure to produce insurance card.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Menjivar was the driver of a vehicle that struck a tree in the 2100 block of Benleo Road after he lost control.
Menjivar remains in Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 bond.
Two passengers, Dilmo Criol Garcia, 44, and Eriberton Bonilla, 37, both of Bowling Green, were also arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Another passenger, whose identity was not released by the sheriff’s office, was flown to a Louisville hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
