Dr. William A. Floyd, 83, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Bowling Green.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Deloris Butler Floyd.

Survivors include five children, Sally Meyer (Karl) of Pennsylvania, William Floyd (Debra) of South Carolina and Regina Priddy (Tom), Remona McDonough and Scott Floyd, all of Bowling Green; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at State Street United Methodist Church at a later date.

Dr. Floyd retired from WKU as head of the Department of Home Economics & Family Living. Throughout his life he helped people as a psychologist and as an ordained minister. He was a sports enthusiast and loved a rousing theological conversation. He was proud that each generation of the family was successful in their own right. In addition, he was a lifetime member of the Masonic Order.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.
