Jon Aaron Lewis, 74, of Bowling Green, passed away on Sept. 19, 2012, at his residence.

Jon was born on June 26, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Ray J. Lewis and the late Virginia E. Cook. He was a superintendent for General Motors in Hamtramck, Detroit, and after retiring, he was a professor at Western Kentucky University, Long Beach State and Walden University. He had a Ph.D. in higher education. Jon was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and spending time with his dogs. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lewis of Bowling Green; six daughters, Cynthia Jacobs and her husband, Steve Anderson, Kimmy Harder and her husband, Robert, Michele Lewis, Therese Lewis, Christina Heins and her husband, Marc, all of California, and Erin Raabe and her husband, Brian, of Bowling Green; a son, Justin Cook of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Maegan and David Heins, and Ethan and Angelina Cook; and two brothers, William Lewis and Ronald Lewis and his wife, Joni, both of California.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Family chose cremation. J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
