Lucille Glass Graham died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the age of 79. It was 5:30 in the afternoon at her home in Edmonson County where she was surrounded by family and friends. She had finally completed a year-long battle with Leiomyosarcoma, in which she was very strong and inspiring to the very end.
The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Dora Alford Glass. She is preceded in death by a son, Lonnie W. Graham; a granddaughter, Heather Renee Graham; two brothers, Houston E. and William H. Glass; and two sisters, Louise Bowles and Macy Butts. Lucille was a member of Shadyland Church of Christ. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 66 years, Lonnie P. (L.P.) Graham; a son, Harold Wayne Graham and wife, Becky; three daughters, Dora Ann Cowles and her husband, William, Connie Jo Colson and her husband, Marc, and Eva Lou Meredith; a daughter-in-law, Eva Shannon Graham; two brothers, Darrell Glass (Shirley) and Durine Glass; 10 grandchildren, Maria Leach (Jeff), Stacie Decker (Bill), DeWayne Cowles, Sheri Ann Jones, Jason Colson (June), Eric Colson (Emily), Stephanie Woodcock (Ronnie), Samantha Kiernan (John), Tabatha Southard (Denny) and John C. Meredith (Ashley); 21 great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and loved ones.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Kinser Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
