We keep getting requests for donations to, “Feed the Children,” do this or do that for disadvantaged children, “Stuff the Bus” with clothing or school supplies for under privileged, and on and on.

After the liberals have spent all those many millions of dollars in their, “War on Poverty,” how can there be “disadvantaged” or “underprivileged?” And why are there more and more people living in poverty?

Could it be that those liberal programs work in reverse? Instead of eliminating poverty, do they encourage it?

Those programs did succeed in one respect. They obligated millions of people to vote for the liberals who created them.

You know very well, this was intended for adults, you seem incapable of thinking and reasoning for yourself, your posts are proof of that! [sad]

Ok people, first of all, some Americans, and immigrants are sucking the life out of "the system" and those of us who actually work and pay taxes have to support them, that is total bs. Why should I work to support a 20 something unmarried couple who have 5 kids and 5 dogs and can not afford to house, feed or clothe them, I should not, you ought to be able to have 1 child on medicaid and welfare, then the other 4 are up to you to get a job and support like I do, I promise you, we would see less if this mess. A twenty year old on disability because they are too nervous to work , come on!!! Get over the " nerves" and get out and work, that will keep your mind busy. Immigrants, learn English, get a job, support youself and the 52 family members you brought with you can do the same, why are we supporting them??? We have to teach these people to fish instead of constantly feeding them, some have raised a bunch of selfish, entitled, don't have to work, give me, give me, kids, wake up people. Buford was right,if you got ticked off by what he said, you may be one I was speaking of, and don't say there are not jobs, it may not be the top level management position you wanted with a company car and credit card, but we all have to start somewhere!!

Republican policies destroy the economy and erode the middle class, but the liberals are responsible for people falling into poverty?

Thought provoking, I haven't been this mentally stimulated since I played peek-a-boo with my infant nephew! I have heard a lot of arguments from people saying we should stop the welfare program and everything like that but its great to hear a true conservative patriot addressing the real problem holding America back: the children. They are the fodder to the liberal cannons. "The children need food to live" "The children need school supplies or they can't get an education". The children are our future, and its looking pretty bleak. Today's "stuff-the-bus" backpack recipient is tomorrows liberal.
