South Warren’s Timitryi Patterson was under the weather Feb. 13 against Franklin-Simpson, but it was the Lady Cats who might have been a tad sick after her performance.
The sophomore forward scored 12 of her team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Lady Spartans rally for a 64-47 victory.
Patterson also had six rebounds and three blocked shots, despite vomiting during a timeout.
“I told her, ‘Whatever you ate to make you sick, you need to go back and do that again probably,’” South Warren coach Blane Embry joked. “She was everywhere. She wanted to play at the front of the press, the back of the press, the middle of the press. She was really into it tonight, and I was real happy for her.”
Patterson said she was trying to do her part to help the Lady Spartans gain a second victory over Franklin-Simpson this season.
“You just have to overcome it,” Patterson said. “I know if this was the district tournament, I couldn’t let my team down. I just had to play through it.”
South Warren will return to action at 6 p.m. today at Butler County.
