For Warren Central junior guard Jharon Satterfield, Tuesday’s game against South Warren was therapeutic.
Earlier in the day, Satterfield attended the funeral of her grandfather Harry Reno Sr. in Louisville. Satterfield then made the drive back to Bowling Green, determined to help her team against the Lady Spartans.
Satterfield finished with eight points and six steals, leading Warren Central past the Lady Spartans 44-41.
“It was a tough day, but my team always puts a smile on my face, no matter my mood,” Satterfield said.
Satterfield hit two 3s during a 10-0 run that gave the Lady Dragons a third-quarter lead and iced the game with two free throws in the final minute.
“I can’t speak enough about Jharon Satterfield,” Warren Central coach Chris Stunson said. “She stepped up big for us. She did all the little things and led our team to a victory.”
Warren Central returns to action at 6 p.m. Friday, when it plays at Bowling Green.
