Greenwood’s Guiliana D’Adamio signed a letter of intent Monday to swim for Centre College.

“I’m really excited,” D’Adamio said. “At first I didn’t know if I wanted to swim or not. When I finally made the decision I knew Centre was the choice for me. It’s an amazing school and I’m really excited.”

D’Adamio said she also had an offer to swim for Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and considered Xavier (Ohio) and Vanderbilt for academics before deciding on Centre.

“I went there for (Governor’s Scholars) last summer and I enjoyed the campus,” D’Adamio said. “I met some of the faculty. The campus is beautiful and the academics are great.”

A distance swimmer for Greenwood, D’Adamio said she will be asked to swim in the same events at Centre College. She added she is happy to have her future secure.

“It’s kind of stressful because I have AP testing and finals, but I’m excited because, once it’s over, I’m done,” D’Adamio said.
