The Region 4 basketball tournament schedules have been finalized.

The girls’ tournament will begin at Barren County High School with first-round games Feb. 27 and Feb. 28. The tournament will move to E.A. Diddle Arena for the semifinals and finals March 4 and March 5.

Barren County was chosen to host the first round because the school was the next in the rotation to host when the tournament was moved to Diddle Arena, tournament director Tim Schlosser said.

The boys’ tournament will take place at Diddle Arena, with an adjustment from the traditional schedule. The opening round will take place Feb. 25 and Feb. 26. The semifinals will take place March 1, with the finals scheduled for Sunday afternoon, March 3.

A scheduling conflict with Western Kentucky University athletics made the traditional schedule impossible. WKU will host a women’s basketball game Feb. 27, a men’s basketball game Feb. 28, and women’s and men’s games March 2.

Diddle Arena has hosted every Region 4 tournament game since 2003, when Barren County High School hosted the boys’ tournament.

The last time girls’ region tournament games weren’t played at Diddle Arena was in 2002, when the first round of the girls’ tournament was at high school sites.
