Former Warren East High School pitcher Hunter Green signed a contract with the Los Angeles Angels, the club announced Monday in a news release.

Green, whose parents also had to sign his contract because he’s 17, finalized the deal after completing a physical for the Angels in Tempe, Ariz. He’ll remain there to join the organization’s rookie-league team in the Arizona League.

The Angels didn’t release details of the contract, but Green’s mother, Judy, told the Daily News the deal included a $942,000 signing bonus.

Green was selected 59th overall in the second round of the MLB draft on June 6 with the Angels’ first pick.
