With two District 14 games on the horizon, the Warren East boys' basketball team (19-5) shot 56 percent and netted nine 3-pointers Monday in a 74-57 win over Caverna at WEHS.

The Raiders made nine of 17 3-pointers. Five players knocked down a shot from behind the arc, and three players - Brandon Walker, Mason Lee and Max Wheeler - netted multiple 3s.

Walker scored all 15 of his points in the first half. Lee, a junior, and senior forward J.J. Chatman scored 10 points apiece for Warren East, while junior forward Aron Strange added six points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman guard Mason Faulkner paced the Colonels with 15 points. Junior forward Mark Dice, a former WEHS player, had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Raiders play at 7:30 p.m. today at South Warren. On Friday, they'll try to snap a 36-game losing streak to Bowling Green that dates back to 1998.

The Lady Raiders (4-22) made a charge after falling behind early, but Caverna relied on its steady backcourt duo to pull out a victory at WEHS.

CHS guards Madison Faulkner and Ciara Waggoner scored 24 and 20 points, respectively, to lead the Lady Colonels. Both players average more than 14 points per game.

Senior forward Justice Martin paced Warren East with 20 points, while freshman guard Erin Houchins added 14 - all in the second half. Junior guard Deborah Young chipped in 11 points.

The Lady Raiders return to District 14 action at 6 p.m. today at South Warren.
