Former Bowling Green High School offensive lineman Joe Manley has transferred from Louisville to Western Kentucky.

Manley, a 6-foot-6, 330-pound redshirt-sophomore, asked for his release from U of L on Friday. Manley was cleared to practice and wore No. 79 while working with the second team offense at right guard in his first WKU practice Wednesday.

Per NCAA transfer rules, Manley would be eligible starting with the 2015 season. Manley was not made available to speak Wednesday.

Manley played in nine games for the Cardinals in 2013 on special teams and the offensive line. As a senior at BGHS in 2011, he was a three-star prospect and was a first-team all-state selection. He redshirted his first season at UofL in 2012.
