Western Kentucky junior David Mokone finished 36th in the men’s 10K race while sophomore Katie Lever led the Lady Toppers with a 37th-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional as the cross-country season came to a close for WKU on Friday at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.
Mokone ran his 10K in 30:08.7 to lead the Hilltoppers for the sixth consecutive meet, finishing 12 spots ahead of his position at the 5K split. Freshman Peter Agaba, the only other Hilltopper to finish among the top 100 runners, climbed 23 spots from his 5K split to finish the 10K in 30:51.6 at 68th place.
