Steven John Owens

BOWLING GREEN — Steven John Owens, 74, of Bowling Green, KY passed away February 10, 2024. He was born to the late John H. and Zelma Jones Owens in Indianapolis, IN on March 30, 1949.

Steve attended Western Kentucky University and obtained a Rank I teaching degree. He went on to teach high school English and television production for 32 years at Bowling Green High and was a member of the Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

Steve was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing any chance he could get. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren more than anything.

Steve is survived by his wife, Belinda, of 46 years; his two daughters, Jennifer Braun (John) of Dickson, TN, and Amanda Young (James) of Mount Juliet, TN; his grandchildren Ava Edmondson, Allyson Frye, Owen, Garrett, and Emma Braun; one brother, Tim Owens (Tina) of Auburn, KY. He also leaves behind a niece and nephew, two great nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 10:00 am Thursday all at the J.C. Kirby on Broadway in Bowling Green, KY. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel, with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
