A man arrested Tuesday is accused of getting into and driving a car occupied by two strangers.

Brandon Crutcher, 40, was arrested on charges of kidnapping (adult), kidnapping (minor) and theft by unlawful taking.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, officers were called to the 1000 block of Porter Pike around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after a man, later identified as Crutcher, got into the driver’s seat of a car with a man and his 17-year-old son.

Crutcher is alleged to have identified himself as a Rivendell employee and driven the car to Casey’s on Louisville Road, where the man convinced Crutcher to stop the car, BGPD said.

The 17-year-old was able to get out of the car, which then left the parking lot and continued south on Louisville Road with the adult male still in it.

Officers found the car on Louisville Road, but it did not stop, and Crutcher is accused of driving around 45 mph as police followed him.

Crutcher is said to have stopped at Louisville Road and Tobacco Road, where he was arrested without incident. Neither the man nor his 17-year-old son were harmed, police said.
