A woman in Barren County has been hospitalized for injuries related to what police believe is an accidental shooting.

According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, police were called around 7:24 p.m. Thursday to a residence on Arnett Grove Road regarding a shooting.

Law enforcement determined that a woman had been shot at the residence. She was flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

The identity of the gunshot victim has not been released by police.

The sheriff’s office said that the incident is being investigated as an accidental shooting, but the investigation is ongoing to rule out any foul play.
