BOWLING GREEN – Betty Thomas Kelley, age 98, passed away in the memory care unit of Lenbrook in Atlanta, Georgia on August 3, 2024. She was born in Fordson, Michigan on April 19, 1926.

She moved to Bowling Green in 1930 and lived there until she moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2017 to be closer to her children.

Betty was a member of Twelfth Street Church of Christ and The Lost River Church of Christ for over 85 years. Mrs. Kelley graduated from Bowling Green High School and then attended Bowling Green Business University where she met the love of her life, Carl N. Kelley. Betty and Carl were married in Bowling Green in 1949.

Betty dedicated her life to her church and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Polly Thomas; her husband, Carl N. Kelley; and her sister, Vera Marie Howerton. Betty is survived by her three sons, Tim (Chung Wei), Mark (Becky) and Phil (Laura); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kelley was buried at a private family service in Fairview Cemetery.
