Bellarmine sophomore guard Pedro Bradshaw (Russellville Class of 2017) scored nine points to help the third-ranked Knights beat No. 13 Indianapolis 71-69 in a battle of top-25 NCAA Division II men’s basketball teams on Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Bradshaw, who was 4-of-5 from the field, also tallied four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block.

Bellarmine (6-0 overall, 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) next hosts Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) on Dec. 15.

Carothers' career day sparks Navy past Houston 56-41

Navy sophomore fullback Jamale Carothers (Bowling Green Class of 2017) set new career highs with 188 rushing yards and five touchdowns as the No. 24 Midshipmen rolled past Houston 56-41 on Saturday in Houston.

Carothers had touchdown runs of 8 yards and 17 yards in the first quarter, broke loose for a 75-yard TD run in the third quarter and then found the end zone again with a 29-yard scoring run in the third. Carothers added one last touchdown in the the fourth quarter on a 19-yard run.

Carothers, who finished with 18 carries, averaged 10.4 yards per carry.

Carothers also caught one of only two Navy completions for a 47-yard reception.

Navy (9-2 overall, 7-1 AAC) is back in action Dec. 14 against Army in Philadelphia.

Austin Peay junior wide receiver DeAngelo Wilson (Bowling Green Class of 2017) hauled in a 15-yard touchdown reception to help the Governors beat Furman 42-6 in their first-ever FCS playoff game on Saturday in Clarksville, Tenn.

Wilson finished with seven catches for 68 yards and a TD. He also had two carries for nine yards and had one punt return.

Austin Peay (10-3) will travel to No. 3 Sacramento State on Saturday for a second-round FCS playoff game.

Western Kentucky redshirt senior defensive back Ta'Corian Darden (Russellville Class of 2015) totaled five solo tackles in Saturday's 31-26 home win over Middle Tennessee.

WKU redshirt junior offensive lineman Jordan Meredith (Bowling Green Class of 2016) started at right guard and helped the Hilltoppers amass 474 yards of total offense in the win.

Hilltopper freshman defensive back Clayton Bush (South Warren Class of 2019) added a solo tackle.

WKU (8-4) will find out its bowl destination this coming weekend.

Georgia Tech redshirt freshman defensive lineman Justice Dingle (Bowling Green Class of 2018) tallied a sack resulting in an 8-yard loss in Saturday's season-ending 52-7 loss to visiting Georgia.

Dingle also recovered a fumble in the game.

Georgia Tech finished with a 3-9 record.

Lindsey Wilson (12-0) will travel to No. 2 Marian (Ind.) for an NAIA playoff semifinal matchup on Dec. 7.

Coomer tallies 14 point for Saint Leo in loss

Saint Leo (Fla.) junior guard Wade Coomer (Barren County Class of 2016) tallied 14 points in Friday's 96-92 men's basketball loss to Valdosta State in the Terrace Hotel Classic in Lakeland, Fla.

Coomer, who was 4-of-6 from 3-point range, added three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Saint Leo (5-2) is back in action Nov. 30 against New Haven (Conn.) in the Classic.

Campbellsville freshman guard Bailey Pedigo (Barren County Class of 2019) added an assist in the win.

Wilson's TD catch helps Govs win OVC title for first time since 1977

Austin Peay junior wide receiver DeAngelo Wilson (Bowling Green Class of 2017) pulled in a 40-yard touchdown reception to help the Governors win their first Ohio Valley Conference championship since 1977 with a 35-7 home victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday.

With the win, Austin Peay earned the program's first-ever spot in the FCS playoffs.

Wilson finished with four catches for 62 yards and the third-quarter score. On special teams, Wilson added three punt returns for 29 yards with a long return of 15 yards.

Austin Peay (9-3 overall, 7-1 OVC) will host No. 16 Furman in the opening round of the FCS playoffs on Nov. 30.

Navy sophomore fullback Jamale Carothers (Bowling Green Class of 2017) ran for 53 yards to help the Midshipmen knock off No. 21-ranked SMU 35-28 Saturday in Annapolis, Md.

Carothers, who finished with 11 carries, had a long rush of 22 yards in the win.

Baker (Kan.) freshman punter Kanyon Sanders (South Warren Class of 2019) finished with six punts, including a 51-yarder, in Saturday's 42-7 loss to Kansas Wesleyan in the first round of the NAIA playoffs.

Sanders' six punts covered 213 yards in all, and he had two kicks inside the 20-yard line.

Baker finished its season with a 9-3 record.

Brescia's volleyball season ended Saturday with a 3-1 loss to nationally-ranked No. 3 Ottawa (Kan.) in the opening round of the NAIA national tournament in Ottawa, Kan.

Brescia sophomore outside hitter Hannah Yonts (South Warren Class of 2018) tallied eight kills, two block assists and a pair of digs. Campbellsville senior Kate Bouldin (Russellville Class of 2016) was 14th in the 200 free (2:20.75) and swam a leg on the Tigers' 13th-place 400 free relay. Campbellsville was sixth in the women's team standings.

Asbury is back in action Jan. 11 for the Centre Colonel Classic. Campbellsville hosts Bethel (Tenn.) on Jan. 11.

Louisville sophomore Tanner Cummings (Greenwood Class of 2018) and freshman Neal Morsi (Bowling Green Class of 2019) helped the Cardinals to win the team championship at the three-day Purdue Invitational that ended Saturday.

Morsi had a 14th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (49.53) and was 23rd in the 100 butterfly (49.63).

Cummings was 25th in the 200 freestyle (1:39.66) and 29th in the 100 fly (49.84) and also swam a leg on the Cardinals' ninth-place 200 medley relay.

Louisville is back in action Dec. 4 at the Toyota U.S. Long Course Nationals in Atlanta.

Cumberlands freshman Trey Wolfram (South Warren Class of 2019) tallied a 16th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at the three-day Magnus Cup swim meet hosted by Cleveland State.

Wolfram finished the 200 fly in 1:57.94. He also was 36th in the 500 freestyle (4:54.51) and 36th in the 100 butterfly (54.10), plus swam legs on Cumberlands' 400 medley relay (15th), 200 medley relay (eighth) and 800 free relay (12th).

Cumberlands finished fifth in the team standings. The Patriots are back in action Jan. 17 at home against Asbury.

Bellarmine sophomore women's swimmer Avery Witcher (Greenwood Class of 2018) helped her team to a sixth-place finish in the Fall Frenzy Invitational hosted by Queens Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.

Witcher was 20th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.18), 28th in the 400 individual medley (4:42.63) and 39th in the 500 freestyle (5:21.14). Witcher also swam legs on the Knights' 400 medley relay (17th), 200 medley relay (21st), 800 free relay (13th) and 400 free relay (28th).

Bellarmine next hosts Xavier on Jan. 11.

Cummings delivers scoring finishes for Louisville swim team

Louisville sophomore Tanner Cummings (Greenwood Class of 2018) had a solid first day for the Cardinals on Thursday in the Purdue Invitational swim meet.

Cummings swam a leg on Louisville's second-place 200-yard freestyle relay and also helped the Cardinals to a ninth-place finish in the 400 free relay.

Individually, Cummings turned in a sixth-place finish in the 50 free (20.04 seconds).

Louisville freshman Neal Morsi (Bowling Green Class of 2019) finished 17th in the 200 individual medley (1:51.42) and swam a leg on the Cardinals' 11th-place 400 free relay.

Blue Raiders' Jenkins earns All-MSC second-team honors

Lindsey Wilson senior defensive lineman Damani Jenkins (Barren County Class of 2015) was named to the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Second Team, the league announced Wednesday.

Jenkins earned the honor after tallying the second-most total tackles for the Blue Raiders. He recorded 23 solo and 25 assisted tackles. Jenkins was responsible for 8.5 tackles for loss this season.

Lindsey Wilson (10-0) ranked No. 6 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Blue Raiders will host Saint Francis (Ind.) in an NAIA Football Championship Series first-round game on Nov. 23.

Morrow added six digs, four block assists and two service aces. Davis tallied five digs and two block assists. KWC junior setter/defensive specialist Lydia Jackson (South Warren Class of 2017) had 15 assists, nine digs, two kills and a service ace.

Kentucky Wesleyan (16-11) will reached the G-MAC semifinals for the first time since 2014, will travel to top seed Hillsdale (Mich.) on Nov. 22.

Aviles notches two assists to help Knights win GLVC title

Bellarmine senior midfielder Gilio Aviles (Bowling Green Class of 2016) tallied a pair of assists to help the 12th-ranked Knights end their time in NCAA Division II as winners after a 3-2 men's soccer victory over McKendree (Ill.) on Sunday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament championship in Jeffersonville, Ind.

"We set goals at the beginning of the season," Aviles said in a news release, "but we've just blown them out of the water."

His brother, Bellarmine senior defender Donald Aviles (Bowling Green Class of 2016) had one shot on goal in the win – the first-ever GLVC tournament championship for the Knights, who are transitioning next season to the NCAA Division I level.

Bellarmine ended its season with a 16-0-4 record.

In Sunday's 137-70 loss to Sewanee (Tenn.), Light was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:48.42), third in the 500 free (5:45.19) and swam a leg on the Pioneers' second-place 200 free relay.

Against Franklin (Ind.) on Saturday, Light had thirds in both the 1,000 free (11:43.68) and 100 free (57.97) and swam a leg on the Pioneers' fourth-place 400 free relay.

Transylvania is back in action Dec. 7 for the Transylvania Invitational.

Austin Peay junior wide receiver DeAngelo Wilson (Bowling Green Class of 2017) hauled in six catches for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Governors' 42-7 road win over Murray State on Saturday.

Wilson caught a 40-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter from JaVaughn Craig, then added an 8-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter. Wilson also contributed on special teams with one punt return for 13 yards.

APSU freshman defensive lineman Caden McKinnis (Logan County Class of 2019) was credited with two pass breakups.

Jenkins tallied a sack for a four-yard loss among his five tackles – four solo.

Kentucky Wesleyan junior wide receiver Chauncey Greer (Warren East Class of 2017) hauled in a 47-yard touchdown catch to help the Panthers avoid a winless season with a 41-30 home win over Alderson-Broaddus (W.Va.) on Saturday.

Greer finished with a team-high six receptions for 67 yards and the touchdown. He also gained three yards rushing.

KWC senior wide receiver Jacob Yates (Bowling Green Class of 2016) had two catches for 22 yards, one punt return for seven yards and added a solo tackle.

Panthers freshman tight end Chandler Silvey (Logan County Class of 2019) had one catch for seven yards.

Kentucky Wesleyan junior defensive lineman Dalan Cofer (Bowling Green Class of 2017) tallied a sack good for a 10-yard loss among his four tackles – three solo – while also forcing a fumble and recovering it.

Kentucky Wesleyan finished the season 1-10 overall and 1-6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Aviles tallies goal as Bellarmine reaches GLVC title game

Bellarmine senior midfielder Gilio Aviles (Bowling Green Class of 2016) tallied a goal to help the 12th-ranked Knights top No. 17 Maryville (Mo.) 2-1 Friday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Tournament semifinals.

Second-seeded Bellarmine needed a goal in the 90th minute to advance to Sunday's championship against top-seeded McKendree (Ill.).

Aviles tallied his goal in the seventh minute to put Bellarmine (15-0-4) ahead early.

Bellarmine, ranked No. 12 in NCAA Division II, will face No 24 McKendree (Ill.) in the championship Nov. 17 in Jeffersonville, Ind.

Transylvania, seeded fifth in the Atlanta Regional, the Pioneers will meet No. 1 seed and nationally ranked No. 1 Emory (Ga.) on on Nov. 16 in the second round of the tournament.

Light was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.20), fourth in the 500 free (5:48.48), fifth in the 100 free (59.31) and swam a leg on the Pioneers' third-place 200 free relay.

Ayers finished with a team-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting along with six rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Crump tallied 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting. He also had two rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Centre (2-1) is back in action Nov. 20 at Transylvania.

Murray was 6-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-6 on 3-point attempts. He also grabbed a rebound.

Brescia junior forward Dylan Beckham (South Warren Class of 2017) added two points and a block for the Bearcats.
