February 2018 3-part Town Hall event

In February 2018 the Bowling Green Daily News hosted a 3-part Bowling Green Civic Assembly event that included a virtual town hall, a face-to-face town hall and a community workshop. Click here for more results and information.

Part II. Town Hall

Second, the results of the Pol.is conversation were used to program a face-to-face Town Hall on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018. Community leaders and survey participants met at La Gala for the free, public event which began at 5:00 p.m. with an informal conversation in the lobby. Food was available from The Cheese Wagon. The program was from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. and was divided into 4 segments, featuring panelists who could best inform the discussion on the most agreed upon statements from the Virtual Town Hall.

Third, on Feb. 23, 2018 a Community Workshop was held where community leaders and citizens worked together on solutions.

October 25, 2016: Debate in the District

The Debate in The District was co-sponsored by The Daily News and the Downtown Redevelopment Authority at La Gala. It began at 5:00 p.m. with a meet and greet with local candidates and included discussion about issues and concerns in our area, and information about how to become an active member in local politics. Food and beverages were available by Rapid Rick's Hotdogs and included charity & information booths, a Hilary and Donald look-a-like contest, doorprizes, and giveaways. The Debate & Candidate Forum went from 5:45-8:00 pm followed by a social networking hour & event afterparty.
