Davis-Hoffman Cemetery

The Davis-Hoffman Cemetery is shown.

The May 29, 1989, edition of the Daily News carried an article by staff writer Donna-Lin Stringer about the Davis-Hoffman Cemetery, which is now the Davis-Hoffman section within the Veterans Memorial part of Fairview Cemetery.

The Davis-Hoffman Cemetery was the namesake of Cleo Baxter Davis, a World War I vet, and Chris Perkins Hoffman, a Word War II vet. It was dedicated in 1948 after the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans posts campaigned for a cemetery that would be strictly for veterans.
