Baptist Women’s Missionary Convention of the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky Annual Women in White services will be at 10 a.m. CDT April 5 at First Baptist Church, Bracktown, 3016 Bracktown Road in Lexington. Dr. C.B. Akins will be the host pastor. Tenure theme will be “For Such a Time as This” Esther 4:14. The subtheme will be “Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers.” The Rev. Marilyn Hockersmith, associate minister of State Street Baptist Church in Bowling Green, will be the speaker.

Little Zion Baptist Church, 421 E. Fifth Ave., is seeking a full-time pastor to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. William Washington will be the 11 a.m. guest speaker.

The Childress Family will be featured May 5 at the homecoming service at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Worship service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch at noon. The singing will begin at 1:30 p.m. White’s Chapel is 10 miles from Bowling Green on Ky. 622 in Drake, near the Warren/Simpson County line.

Alpha & Omega Pentecostal Church, 919 Church St., will celebrate the eight-year anniversary of Pastor Juawanda Coleman at 3 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Brian Hogg, Alpha Baptist Church of Franklin, will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served at the Gott Center on Porter Pike after the service.

Cheryl Stevens, dean of Ogden College of Science and Engineering at Western Kentucky University, will be the 11 a.m. speaker Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Church of Bowling Green, 2033 Nashville Road. Stevens is dedicated to developing strategies for student success and increasing diversity at WKU. The Adult Forum will be at 9:50 a.m. and Sangha Meditation will be at 10 a.m. Children’s Religious Exploration studies and nursery care will be provided during all services.

SPECIAL MUSIC

The Napiers of Glasgow will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Fairview Ave. Billy Moran is pastor.

The fifth Sunday Community Congregational Singing will be March 31 at Martha’s Chapel General Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. and the singing will be at 6 p.m. Churches include Beech Grove General Baptist Church, Cassidy Community Church, Friendship Community Church, Grace Free Will Baptist Church, Martha’s Chapel General Baptist Church, Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Union General Baptist Church, New Hope Full Gospel Church, Old Liberty General Baptist Church and Whites Chapel Methodist Church.
