FOP feeding the needy for holidays

Volunteers loaded boxes Monday for the Fraternal Order of Police food drop at FOP Lodge 13 on Corvette Drive. Helbig, president of the local FOP, said that 130 boxes of food and toiletry items were to be handed out by the organization to help people feed their families in the Bowling Green area. “This is the largest drop we’ve ever done,” Helbig said of the program which has been in existence for more than 30 years. Helbig said they are still accepting monetary donations for the holiday season, and anyone wanting to donate can send them to the Fraternal Order of Police, P.O. Box 1922, Bowling Green KY 42101.
