Four arrested after crash in Barren

A crash in Barren County led to the arrest of four people Friday.

According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Roseville Road on a crash report.

Deputy Ken Thomas spoke to a witness who reported seeing a white pickup truck strike a mailbox and drive away. The same witness said he saw the truck on the side of the road moments later and he stopped to check on the occupants.

The witness said that when he told the truck’s occupants he had called law enforcement, the truck attempted to drive away but was stuck in the mud. Three occupants walked into the woods before deputies arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.

James Boule, 36, of Indiana, was at the scene and taken into custody on an arrest warrant.

The other three occupants were located throughout the course of the day and arrested.

Glenn Rawlings, 47, of New Albany, Ind., Kacey L. Ghrist, 27, of McMinnville, Tenn., and Christopher J. Johnson, 25, of New Albany, Ind., were arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree criminal trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rawlings was also charged with third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and served with a fugitive warrant from Indiana.

Ghrist was charged additionally with second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Johnson was also charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police and third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
