Officials ruled the death of a Bowling Green man, who was found more than a week after being reported missing, was caused by drowning.

Micah Reed, 34, was reported missing March 30 by his family. His body was found April 9 in Jennings Creek.

A Bowling Green Police Department report summarizing the investigation detailed the contact police had with several people who were familiar with Reed as well as with a state medical examiner who performed an autopsy.

The medical examiner reported no signs of trauma on Reed's body and said he died of an "unwitnessed drowning in a creek," according to the BGPD report.

Allegations that foul play figured into Reed's death could not be confirmed and search warrants obtained for Facebook Messenger content on accounts for Reed turned up nothing suspicious, according to the report.

City police have closed the investigation.
