Police are investigating after a man's body was found Monday on the shoulder of Interstate 65 in Bowling Green.

According to a news release from Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green, KSP received a call at 5:43 a.m. about a person lying on the southbound shoulder of I-65 under the Scottsville Road overpass at the 22-mile marker. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, along with KSP troopers, arrived and found an unresponsive man under the overpass.

The man, who was found with his belongings, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death is not yet known and an autopsy is pending at the Medical Examiner’s Office.

KSP has opened a death investigation led by Detective Mike May.
