POLICE NEWS : Two hurt in car accident

Two people were injured in a one-car automobile crash Monday in Allen County, and the driver is accused of being intoxicated.

Jordan M. Tracy, 19, and James M. Shrum, 22, both of Scottsville, were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. They were passengers in the vehicle driven by Brian C. Scott, 20, of Scottsville, according to Kentucky State Police. Scott was charged with driving under the influence, second offense within five years, and failure to produce insurance.

Scott was driving north on Old Glasgow Road at 4:46 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle went off the road and hit two trees, according to state police.

Tracy and Shrum were not wearing seat belts, according to the report.

Shrum is in critical condition and Tracy was in surgery today.

A Bowling Green woman is in custody after firing a “warning shot” near her father Monday afternoon.

Nigyar Mamedgha Aleman, 24, 707 Old Morgantown Road, was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment at her residence, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

Aleman had come to the residence to remove some items. She got into a verbal argument with her father over a table and got a gun from her bedroom and fired a warning shot into the wall behind her father, according to the report.

The father attempted to grab the gun and Aleman struck him in the chest with the weapon, according to the report. The father was able to take the weapon away from Aleman.

She is at the Warren County Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.

Burglary — A back door window was broken with a vodka bottle, causing $380 in damage, at Taylormade 2 at 1043 Pedigo Way, according to a city police report. The only item stolen from the store was a pair of jeans valued at $55.

Criminal mischief — Two tires were slashed on a vehicle causing $300 in damage between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday at AFNI at 2625 Scottsville Road, according to a city police report.

Fraud — A total of 20 fraudulent transactions for about $1,200 were made using a St. Louis man’s debit card. The card had been left with the man’s wife in Bowling Green, from whom he is separated, according to a city police report.

The wife was in the hospital and recovering from surgery at the time the purchases were made, according to the report.
