Richardsville Fire

A house burns Monday afternoon on Pleasant Grove Road. The Richardsville, Gott and Smiths Grove volunteer fire departments were called around 1:45 p.m. Monday to the fire. According to the Richardsville VFD, the log cabin was fully involved when firefighters arrived and the home’s owner said there was no one inside. The Barren River and Wingfield volunteer fire departments were later called to assist. The structure collapsed and firefighters remained on scene for about six hours to prevent the fire spreading, the Richardsville VFD said. An estimated 20,000 gallons of water were used to combat the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
