Team members with Rescue Rebuild, a shelter renovation program of Greater Good Charities, continued work on renovations at the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society on Friday, July 9, 2021. Rescue Rebuild workers joined with Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation and HARTZ® to build an outdoor catio by the adoption center entrance, repair fencing and add dividers to the dog run yard and add a fenced-in play yard for intake animals at the Bowling Green shelter.

Rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rescue Rebuild team, along with local and nationwide volunteers, arrived Monday, July 5, to begin work on the two-week-long renovations.

Zach Baker, senior director of Pet Programs with Rescue Rebuild, said his team chose the BGWCHS after receiving their application and noticing the quality of care the shelter employees provide the animals despite the large intake, overflowing capacity and need for renovations that help increase the adoptability and quality of life of shelter pets.

The shelter makeover will be the 164th project across the country the Rescue Rebuild has undertaken since it started in 2007.
