A woman wanted by police after failing to appear for an emergency custody hearing with her 3-year-old daughter was arrested Friday in Bowling Green.

Amanda Marie Otero, 32, of Oakland, was served with a warrant from Logan County charging her with kidnapping (minor), custodial interference, intimidating a participant in the legal process and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Otero was served with the warrant by the Bowling Green Police Department at a residence in the 300 block of Suwannee Trail Street.

She was placed in Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 cash bond.

Otero was sought by authorities after a man came to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department this week to report that he was granted emergency custody of his 3-year-old daughter through Logan Circuit Court on May 30 after the mother, Otero, failed to appear at an emergency custody hearing.

The child, Amya Otero, is in protective custody with social services, BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said in a text message.
