Bowling Green - Charles Edward Cummings 88, of Bowling Green entered into rest Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at The Medical Center. Charlie was born September 21, 1928 in Charleston, W. Va. He was preceded in death by his parents John Howard and Martha Carnes Cummings, three brothers, James, Golden and Freddie Cummings and seven sisters, Mary, Mamie, Emma, Helen, Mildred, Norma and Wanda. Charlie was a retired dental salesman from Crutcher Dental and Kentucky Dental. He was a proud member of Eastwood Baptist Church and served his country as a First Lieutenant in Army National Guard for over 17 years. He was a avid golfer and faithful U. K. Basketball fan. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years Gwen Cummings, four daughters Diana Lancaster (Larry), Jeannie Marshall both of Bowling Green, Debbie Slagle Pike of Louisville, Charlene Cummings of Goldthwaite, TX. A brother Donald Cummings (Nancy) of Port St. Lucie, Fl and a sister Linda Stamper of Portsmouth, OH. 5 wonderful grandchildren Charlie Lancaster, Amy Carter (Matt), Dee Potter, Tony Cummings (Mary) and Scott Blubaugh. 10 great-grandchildren Lindsay Lancaster, Steven Lancaster, Andrew Carter (Megan), Emily Carter, Anna Davis, Tripp and Henry Potter, Kailyn, Ethan and Levi Cummings. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 3:30 pm at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday 1:00 pm until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
